Accessibility Statement

We want everyone, including people who use assistive technology, to be able to use this website.

Our standard

Clear Century designs this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which includes the WCAG 2.0 Level AA criteria that the Section 508 Standards apply to federal information and communication technology. We hold the software we build to the same standard.

What we do

  • Semantic page structure with landmarks, one main heading per page and a logical heading order.
  • A “Skip to main content” link and full keyboard access to navigation, menus and forms.
  • Visible focus indicators and text and controls that meet WCAG color contrast requirements.
  • Form fields with visible labels, instructions and error messages that are announced to screen readers.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology.
  • Animation that can be paused with the “Pause animations” control, and that is turned off when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels for primary controls.
  • Contracting data published as plain, copyable text, with the capability statement also available as a tagged PDF.

How we test

We check pages with automated accessibility testing and keyboard-only navigation, and we review new content before it is published. We welcome reports from people using screen readers and other assistive technology.
